Hiya, Belles! Gardening is becoming more and more popular. Ideas from books and online sites are inspiring others to head over to the nearest garden center.

Maybe you’re thinking about planting a garden this year for the first time. Or maybe you’ve been doing this for a while, but your garden needs a little something more. This post has seven creative garden ideas for every gardener, whether you’ve been doing this for three minutes, three years, or three decades.

Starting Out

A garden seems like an easy way to save money, be creative, and eat healthier.

There are so many possibilities out there to consider when looking for ways to do all of this.

But where do I start?

Begin with six easy steps:

  • 1st: Find a place to put your garden.

If you live an apartment try a window or balcony garden. Live in the suburbs? A backyard garden might be the answer. There is also the possibility of participating in a local community garden. Wherever you plant, make sure there is plenty of sunshine.

  • 2nd: Chose what plants you want to have.

Make a list of the ones you want to try and another list of the things you need. Then narrow down the choices. Check to make sure that the ones you chose grow well where you live. For example, a plant that requires the summer sun might not be prosperous in a cold environment.

  • 3rd: Prep the soil.

Invest in a good soil for your garden. It’ll be worth it. You could even start a compost, which has amazing benefits.

  • 4th: Buy the plants.

Find a nursery or place like Home Depot or Lowes to help you out. You can also start with some seeds and watch them grow from the outset.

  • 5th: Start planting!

Study your plants. Reading up on them will help you know exactly how to grow them the right way.

  • 6th: Don’t forget to keep up with your garden.

Water and harvest regularly. A garden needs attention. Why not even sing to your plants while you weed?
