Remember how I said in this post that I am writing a beauty/style/fashion post once a month? Well, today’s post is the second one!
In today’s post, you’ll see how you can make a body scrub at home with ingredients found in the kitchen pantry.
Why make a body scrub? Scrubs exfoliate your skin and get rid of dead skin cells that can clog pores. Plus, scrubs leave skin as smooth as a baby and moisturized, too. Bonus: Ingredients in some scrubs can help with specific beauty faux pas.

DIY Body Scrubs
The first thing you need to do is build the scrub. Next, apply the scrub to your skin (use these scrubs on lips and face as well). Let it sit for a few minutes and then rinse. For even better results, apply lotion/oil afterward.
Do a scrub once a week or once a month.
Below are steps to make and use a scrub.
Step One: Choose a Base
The base would be the actual exfoliant. Below are some bases to help get you started.
- Coffee grounds
- Brown Sugar
- Baking Soda
You can even use more than one exfoliant for a bonus.
Step Two: Choose a Moisturizer
The moisturizer does just that–moisturize. A few ideas for moisturizers are listed below.
- Coconut oil
- Olive oil
Step Three: Extra, Beneficial Ingredients
Step three is optional. You can add other ingredients to target unwanted faux pas. Some include essential oils, vanilla extract, lemon, and more.
Step Four: Scrub!
Scrub in circular motions to increase blood circulation all over your skin, then rinse and apply a lotion or oil.
