Happy weekend, Belles!
Weekend means, “any two day period taken or given regularly as a weekly rest period from one’s work.” (Dictionary.com) When someone says “weekend,” most think of it as a time to kick your feet back and relax. Everybody looks forward to that break, whether it be on Saturday and Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday, or some other date.

An ease from hard work is often well deserved. But, what can you do this weekend? You’ve already written that paper for your college professor. You filled out the form for work. The fridge has been cleaned out. Your BFF is out of town. You finished the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy on Netflix. You saw every Facebook post your mom posted on Friday at least a dozen times. So, what can you do?
In today’s post, I made a list of ten things to do on the weekend this spring. Each idea is inexpensive, enjoyable, and won’t take too much effort. The first few are out-of-the-house. The rest are ones to do at home.
10 Things to do this Weekend
1. Go to the library.
Not only can you pick up a fantabulous stack of books, but libraries often offer community activities.
2. Go for a walk.
This a great opportunity to take a mini-trip around your neighborhood or block. Breath in the fresh air and check out the blooming flowers.
3. Plant a vegetable or flower garden.
You can do this on your apartment porch, in your kitchen window, or your backyard. Check out this video from Buzzfeed on growing fruit from your kitchen. Bonus: You can watch them grow throughout the week. Buy some seeds and start planting!
4. Spring cleaning/yard sale
Spring cleaning gives you a chance to go through your closet and throw out some old t-shirts or that pair of shoes that are falling apart. Or that ugly lounge chair in your attic. Or your old rock collection from 2nd grade. If you have some nicer items, why not make some money off of them with a yard sale?
5. Take a detox bath.
A detox bath is a great way to relax after a stressful week. Check out a couple of detox bath ideas from Tico and Tina and The Indian Spot. Turn on your music, sit back, and enjoy the warm water and bubbles.
6. Color
Adult coloring books have been proven to reduce stress levels. So, why not pull out the markers and color? Feel relief and pleasure as you doodle away.
7. Bake
It’s time to grab your cookbook and turn up the music! Mix together your favorite cookies as you rock away to Queen. Who says you can’t dance in the kitchen?
8. Start a Blog
Why not? Blogging is a great way to spend your time. You can prop up your feet and blog away. Interested? Check out this super, useful post to help you get started. Go to the post here>>
9. Tackle Your Reading List
Got a nightstand with a pile of books yet to be read? The weekend is a great time to start tackling it!
10. Call Your Family
Chat with mom about life. Catch up with your sister. Call your nephew and see how his school is coming.
